A Time To Give Thanks- Get Closer To God

A Time to Give Thanks.

“Then I will praise God’s name with singing, and I will honor him with thanksgiving.”

Psalm 69:30 (NLT)

-

Hello Reader,

I’m so grateful you’re here for this special week.

Thanksgiving is more than a holiday—it’s a sacred pause.

A time to slow down, look around, and recognize the blessings God has woven into our lives, both obvious and hidden.

It’s a season where gratitude becomes worship, and reflection turns into praise.

But Thanksgiving isn’t just about what we have—it’s about who we have. And this week’s verse centers our hearts on the One who deserves our deepest thanks

A Little History...

Psalm 69 is one of David’s most honest and emotionally raw psalms.

He writes from a place of hardship, discouragement, and desperation. Yet in the middle of his pain, David makes a declaration—not of defeat, but of praise.

This is what makes Psalm 69:30 so powerful:

Thanksgiving is not dependent on circumstance—it’s an act of faith.
David chooses to honor God even before his situation changes.

Singing and thanksgiving become his way of saying, “God, I trust You. I acknowledge who You are, even here.”

For us, Thanksgiving is often filled with good food, family gatherings, and joy.

However, this verse reminds us that gratitude is also an offering—one we give, regardless of the season of life.

How to Apply It To Your Life...

🌿 Life Applications

🌿 Choose Praise in Every Season
Thanksgiving isn’t just for the good days. Like David, we can honor God with praise even in difficult moments, trusting that He is working behind the scenes.

🌿 Make Gratitude Your Song
Let this holiday inspire more than a single day of thankfulness. Use your voice—your words, your prayers, your conversations—to lift up God’s name with genuine gratitude.

🌿 Honor God by Remembering His Goodness
This week, take a moment to reflect on the blessings, relationships, and answered prayers God has placed in your life. Gratitude brings joy, clarity, and peace.

Let's Pray Together...

Dear God,
It is always the right time to give You thanks.

I thank You for my life, for every opportunity, every open door, every challenge, and every achievement.

I know that without You, I would be lost.

My gratitude rises to You as I navigate this chaotic world, trusting that You will never leave me or forsake me.

Today, I also lift up those who need You but feel unable to find You.

I pray that Your grace and mercy would break through in their lives, drawing them close to You.

You sent Your Son to die for our sins, and sometimes words fail to express just how thankful I truly am.

Amen.

Let's Sum It All Up...

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s remember that gratitude draws us closer to God.

When we honor Him with thanksgiving—just as David did—we soften our hearts, strengthen our faith, and realign our perspective.

I pray that this week fills your home with warmth, your heart with gratitude, and your spirit with renewed praise.

If this message encourages you, share it with someone who might need a reminder of God’s goodness today.

Let’s continue to pray for one another and ask that this message reaches even more hearts this holiday season—reminding them that every good thing begins and ends with our gracious God.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Week!

Quentin.
