Lord, I Believe- Get Closer To God

" I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief."

- Mark 9:24

Welcome to my newsletter!

Hello Reader,

Thanks for joining us today to explore a "God-breathed" Scripture!

I believe that if more people start reading and living out God’s Word, we can make the world better.

Do you struggle to trust in all that God has done for you and continues to do because fear and doubt overwhelm your mind and heart?

If this has happened to you, today we'll look at an inspiring event in scripture, proving that God's Word is here to help us through times of disbelief.

By embracing faithful steps, we can conquer any fear or uncertainty that stands in the way of our unity with God.

With each step, we draw closer to the profound belief in the salvation He longs to offer us.

Let's rise above our doubts and trust in His unwavering love, allowing it to guide us on our journey toward spiritual fulfillment.

A Little History...

This verse is from the Gospel of Mark 9:14-29, where a desperate father brings his demon-possessed son to Jesus for healing. The disciples attempted to cast out the spirit but were unsuccessful. When Jesus arrives, the father expresses his partial faith, saying, “If you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” (Mark 9:22).

Jesus responds, “‘If you can’? Everything is possible for one who believes.” (Mark 9:23).
The father openly acknowledges his struggle between faith and doubt., saying: “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

How to Apply It To Your Life...

Be Honest with God About Your Doubts

  • Just like the father in the verse, don't be afraid to acknowledge when your faith feels weak.
  • Instead of hiding doubt, bring it to God in prayer and ask Him to strengthen your faith.

🔹 Application: When you struggle to trust God in a situation, pray: “Lord, I believe, but help my unbelief.”

Take Small Steps of Faith

  • Faith grows through action—trust God even when you don’t have all the answers.
  • Step forward in faith, whether by praying, reading Scripture, or making decisions guided by faith instead of fear.

🔹 Application: If you're uncertain about something, take one small step forward and trust God with the outcome.

Surround Yourself with Encouraging Faith

  • Stay connected to Scripture, prayer, and believers who encourage and challenge your faith.
  • Hearing testimonies and seeing God work in others can strengthen your own belief.

🔹 Application: Find a faith-filled friend, mentor, or group to share your struggles and encourage each other.

Let's Pray Together...

Father God,

I believe in You—I know I do. But sometimes, the world’s distractions and doubts creep in. Please strengthen my faith and help me overcome any unbelief. The enemy tries to pull me away, but I trust in Your constant love and purpose for my life. Holy Spirit, fill me now—stay by my side when fear and uncertainty try to shake me.

Give me boldness and conviction to stand firm in what I know to be true. I don’t just want to believe—I want to live my faith, speaking and acting in a way that reflects You, even when the world says otherwise.

I believe, Lord. Help me walk in that belief every day.

Amen.

Let's Sum It All Up...

Faith and trust are intertwined, each strengthening the other. In moments when our faith is put to the test, we are called to lean more deeply on God.

These challenges serve as opportunities to deepen our relationship with Him, reminding us that in our most difficult times, His strength and guidance are all we need.

Let us embrace these moments, knowing that they can lead us to greater resilience and unwavering trust in God. Then, we will be able to overcome any unbelief that is holding us back.

I hope and pray you take these words today and allow them to strengthen your belief.

Spread the word—someone might truly need it today!

I’m keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Embrace the day confidently with a strong belief in what God does for you, and have a wonderful, blessed week ahead!

Quentin.
