Wait with Hope- Get Closer To God

Wait with Hope

"But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently."

- Romans 8:25 (NIV)

Hello Reader,

Thank you for choosing to weave a verse of scripture into the fabric of your life.

By doing so, you uplift your spirit and inspire those around you to explore the transformative power of faith.

Today's passage beautifully highlights the importance of patience.

Though it can be challenging in our fast-paced world, embracing patience leads to growth and fulfillment, reminding us that meaningful experiences often take time to unfold.

I could write a book on patience and our struggle with waiting, but patience becomes key once we learn to have faith in God and His plan for us.

The Apostle Paul exemplified patience and was filled with faith from the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit we can invoke when our patience is tested.

A Little History...

Paul wrote this around A.D. 57 to the Christian community in Rome, made up of both Jewish and Gentile believers.

He writes to explain the gospel of grace in full, highlighting how righteousness comes by faith, not by works or law.

The Letter to the Romans is theological, pastoral, and deeply practical.

Paul encourages believers to maintain hope during the period between salvation's beginning and its full completion.

The Christian life requires a spirit of patient expectation, grounded in God's faithfulness.

How to Apply It To Your Life...

Wait with Purpose, Not Passivity

Waiting on God doesn’t mean sitting still or giving up. Biblical waiting is active trust—continuing to pray, serve, grow, and walk in obedience even when the outcome hasn’t arrived. Paul reminds believers that hope is more than wishful thinking; it’s a confident expectation that God will fulfill His promises in His perfect time.

🔹 How to apply it:

Instead of asking “How long, Lord?” ask: “What can I do with this waiting?”

Fix Your Eyes on the Unseen

It’s easy to get discouraged when what we long for—healing, direction, justice, peace—hasn’t come yet. Paul urges us to set our sights beyond what’s visible, trusting in what God has promised, even if it hasn’t come to pass yet. This requires a shift in perspective: from temporary disappointments to eternal promises.

🔹 How to apply it:

When you feel disheartened, write down God's past faithfulness in your life—it reminds you that He’s still working.

Encourage Others in Their Waiting

Patience is contagious when modeled well. Many people around you are also waiting for healing, restored relationships, purpose, or peace. When you demonstrate patient hope, you inspire others to hold on, too. Your trust in God can be a living testimony of His goodness and reliability.

🔹 How to apply it:

Share your own struggles with waiting and how God is growing you through them.

Let's Pray Together...

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for the gift of hope—hope that is not based on what I see, but on who you are. In this season of waiting, help me trust in Your timing and promises, even when the path ahead feels unclear.

Teach me to wait with purpose, not passivity. Strengthen me to keep praying, seeking, and growing while I look forward to what You are doing behind the scenes. I know You are always at work, even when I cannot see it.

Fill me with patience and endurance as I cling to the promise that You are faithful. I place my hope in You, confident and unshaken.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let's Sum It All Up...

It's wonderful to hope for what we desire in our lives, but we must first ask ourselves: Is this what God wants for us?

If we have prayed and sought God's guidance, we must practice patience, trusting that in time, God will answer our prayers and provide what we truly need.

I truly believe this verse can uplift someone special to you! Please share it, and know that I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you await the exciting changes ahead!

Have a blessed week out there,

Quentin
