Hello Reader,
I’m so glad you’re here. Each time we gather around God’s Word, our goal is simple: to get a little closer to Him every single day.
We do this not by rushing through chapters, but by slowing down and letting even one verse sink deep into our hearts.
When we pause long enough to reflect and apply a single piece of scripture, it can shape our thoughts, guide our choices, and transform the way we live.
The words of today's verse were written in a season of incredible loss and sorrow.
The city of Jerusalem had fallen, and God’s people were scattered and broken. Yet in the middle of this grief, the writer stops to remember that hope is not gone—because God Himself is their portion.
This verse doesn’t come from comfort, but from the ashes of hardship, reminding us that even when everything else is stripped away, God remains faithful, steady, and enough.

A Little History...
The book of Lamentations is traditionally attributed to the prophet Jeremiah. It was written after the fall of Jerusalem in 586 B.C., a time of immense suffering, destruction, and exile for God’s people.
Amid deep grief, the writer pauses to remember God’s faithfulness, mercy, and steadfast love (vv. 21–23). Verse 24 builds on this hope, affirming that God Himself—not material security, land, or circumstances—is the true “portion” and inheritance of His people.

How to Apply It To Your Life...
🌿 Find Your Security in God, Not Circumstances When life feels uncertain or when losses come, remember that your portion is not found in wealth, status, or possessions—but in God Himself. He is enough.
🌿 Choose Hope in Seasons of Waiting The verse ends with, “I will wait for him.” Waiting isn’t passive—it’s trusting God’s timing. In seasons of delay or hardship, hold onto hope by remembering God’s past faithfulness.
🌿 Cultivate Daily Dependence on God To say, “The Lord is my portion” means relying on Him for strength, guidance, and satisfaction each day. This calls us to prayer, scripture meditation, and surrendering our plans to His will.

Let's Pray Together...
Dear Heavenly Father, I place my trust, hope, and faith in You alone. In seasons of uncertainty and fear, guide my steps and steady my heart.
You are my portion, my strength, and all I need to endure in a world filled with confusion and struggle.
Strengthen my resolve, fill me with unwavering patience, and help me shine as a light to others who are still searching for You.
Amen.

Let's Sum It All Up...
Today's verse reminds us that no matter what we face, God Himself is our portion, our hope, and our strength.
When we hold onto Him, we find security beyond circumstances, patience in waiting, and daily guidance for living.
I encourage you to take this verse with you this week—let it shape your prayers, your choices, and your outlook.
Share it with someone who may need encouragement today, and let’s continue to pray for one another.
Please also pray that this letter can reach more hearts, drawing people closer to God each day.
Have a blessed day and week ahead,
Quentin.
